The Fabric Chest offers a variety of sewing and quilting classes. Skill levels vary from beginner to advanced levels. These classes are scheduled at different times throughout the year. Please follow the below links for details on these classes and refer to our monthly calendars for availability.

BERNINA Guide Classes:
Guide Classes to teach those who recently purchased machines or software are offered free for all Fabric Chest customers. However, machine owners who have purchased their machines elsewhere are charged standard fees of $75 per class unless their warranties are transferred by the dealership where they have purchased their machines.
Please ask for information if you wish to have your warranty transferred to Fabric Chest prior to registering for class. The transfer involves a Warranty Transfer Form and payment of fees by the dealer transferring the warranty.
Ongoing Classes
Quilt Sitter Circle: Out first Friday quilters group from 6:30 pm until?? who meet for show and tell, education, fun and fabric acquisition competition.
Software Sampler: A monthly class for those who wish to become more familiar or preview the capabilities of Artista software. This is a year-long class (minus July) which covers every aspect of Artista Editor and Designer Software. If you own and want to learn more or are just thinking about buying software, join us for $10 per session or $75 for the whole year. Classes are 3rd or 4th Saturdays at 2 p.m. and are presented via Internet & conference phone. Please bring your laptop & dongle, our Fabric Chest instructors will lead the lesson after the virtual presentation. The fee is $75 per year or $10 per class.
Virtual BERNINA Club is beginning February 2008!!
A Bernina educator will present a Bernina Club project once a month throughout the year for interested sewers. The same internet & conference phone setup will be used as with Software Sampler.
Classes will be the last Friday of the month at 3 p.m. please be prompt.
The fee is $75 per year or $10 per class and half price for those purchasing Bernina during 2007 or 2008.
Exploratory SERGERY This is a monthly to learn more about that serger you own! After reviewing basic stitching, we will explore the complexities of the rolled hem, flatlock, use of decorative threads and any other topic you wish to pursue. This will be a hands-on learning class so you must be comfortable threading the machine from scratch, setting up 3 and 4 thread overlock stitches as well as making tension adjustments. Purchase of Bernina Serger Technique Reference Book is required; all brands of sergers are welcome. The classes are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. The cost is $75 per year
