The Fabric Chest was established as a full service Bernina Dealership in 1989. We have on site service technicians and experienced, trained staff to provide you excellent service. Sewing machines, sergers, and embroidery machines range from the most basic to the most sophisticated computerized machines. The Fabric Chest is the most well known Bernina sewing machine dealership in Anne Arundel County.
In 2005, the store was purchased by Shirley Freienmuth, said to "have been born with a needle in her hand". Shirley changed the focus of the store from a comprehensive sewing establishment to one that specializes in quilting and machine embroidery. She is a past president of the Annapolis Quilt Guild and a winner of the National Make It With Wool sewing competition. It is Shirley's dream to make your visit to the Fabric Chest a special treat.
Shirley and her talented staff provide offer a variety of classes at the shop. Classes are developed for stitchers of all skill levels. Machine Guide classes are without charge to those who have purchased their machines from our store.
